Meeruthiya Gangsters is a 2017 Indian Hindi-language crime drama film directed by Kushal Srivastava and produced by Nitin Motwane. The film stars Irrfan Khan, Javed Jaffrey, Jimmy Sheirgill and Anil George. The movie is a remake of the 2014 Telugu language movie Temper which also starred Irrfan Khan in one of the lead roles. It was released on 7 October 2017, nearly 2 months after the release of Munna Michael starring Varun Dhawan. The movie did not perform well at the box-office. It is set in the 1970s in Uttar Pradesh. The story revolves around three main characters, Ravi Shankar Prasad (Jimmy Sheirgill), Vijay Verma (Irrfan Khan), and Munna Singh Chauhan (Anil George). The widowed widower, Ravi Shanker Prasad lives with two of his daughters, while he works as a carpenter who makes living by doing household jobs. He has no source of income for daily expenses, so he becomes a Bandit to feed his family members. His second daughter is married but her husband lives elsewhere to earn money for his family. Munna Singh Chauhan also lives with Ravi Shanker Prasad as his son as his mother died as she had a scarcity of milk. The rest of the film revolves around the lives of the three characters and how the trio go on to give life to a newly established gang which comprises of Vijay Verma, Munna Singh Chauhan and Ravi Shankar Prasad.The soundtrack for "Meeruthiya Gangster" was composed by Ishaan Mishra, with lyrics penned by Krishan Taneja and Dev Kohli, except for "Oi Sarraina" song composed by Shail-E-Azam. The full Soundtrack was released on 30 September 2017. Meeruthiya Gangster was released in 7500 screens worldwide which includes 5000 screens in the domestic market and 2000 screens in Overseas market. The advance bookings of the movie opened on 22 September 2017 and were Rs 3.50 crores. The movie collected 1.10 crores on opening day and grossed 5 crore by its second day which was 20% growth over its first day collection. The second weekend report shows that the movie has collected 6.22 crores at domestic box office which is 26% growth over its first weekend collection of 4.42 crores at domestic box office, taking its total collection to 11. 22 crores which is 45% growth over its first weekend collection. The movie grossed a total of 20.06 crores at domestic box office and 51.50 crores overseas in its lifetime which makes the movie a superhit at the box office worldwide. Meeruthiya Gangster was released in DVD by Fox Star Studios on 8 November 2017 under the "Meeruthiya Gangster" Theatrical International Series, Part 1 Cover Orange Color. cfa1e77820
